Paille was released from his PTO with the Blackhawks Monday, James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail reports.
Analysis:
The Blackhawks are pretty deep at forward, so Paille was always considered a bit of a long shot to crack the 23-man roster. He may, however, draw interest from NHL clubs looking to add some veteran depth to their bottom-six forward group. The 31-year-old winger tallied 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in 71 games with the Bruins last season.
