Senators sign defenseman Thomas Chabot to entry-level contract, assign to QMJHL

The Ottawa Senators have signed 2015 first-round pick Thomas Chabot to an entry-level contract, the club announced Wednesday.
The 18-year-old defenseman, who was selected 18th overall, impressed at his first NHL training camp, but was subsequently reassigned to the QMJHL.
In 121 games with the Saint John Sea Dogs, Chabot has recorded 13 goals and 50 assists.
