Blue Jackets sign Oleg Yevenko to 1-year, 2-way contract

The Columbus Blue Jackets agreed to terms with defenseman Oleg Yevenko, the team announced Thursday.
The 24-year-old signed a one-year, two-way contract with the club. Yevenko will start the season with the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, after being assigned by the Blue Jackets earlier last weekend.
Yevenko has spent the past four years playing at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He spent four games with the Calgary Flames' AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Flames, last season, going pointless.
