The Vancouver Canucks placed forward Linden Vey and defensemen Alex Biega and Frank Corrado on waivers Monday with the intention of assigning them to the AHL's Utica Comets, the team announced.
Vey was pushing for a spot on the opening-day roster after an unimpressive 2014-15 season, when the 24-year-old put up 10 goals and 24 points in 75 games.
Meanwhile, Biega and Corrado will return to the Comets - barring a waiver pickup - where they spent the majority of last season, dressing in 62 and 35 games, respectively.
The team also announced that 2014 first-round pick Jake Virtanen cracked the opening-day roster. Forward Jared McCann and defenseman Ben Hutton also survived last cuts.
