The New Jersey Devils have named defenseman Andy Greene the club's new captain.
Greene becomes the 11th captain in Devils' franchise history, taking over for fellow blue-liner Bryce Salvador, who announced his retirement last month.
Forwards Patrik Elias, Travis Zajac, Mike Cammalleri, and Adam Henrique will serve as alternates.
Greene signed a five-year contract extension with the Devils in the summer of 2014 and he's entering his 10th season with the club, with which he's spent his entire career.
