Kings sign Peter Budaj to 1-year deal, listed on AHL roster
The Los Angeles Kings signed veteran goaltender Peter Budaj to a one-year, two-way contract, general manager Dean Lombardi announced Friday.
Budaj will earn an NHL rate of $575,000 and an AHL rate of $100,000, TVA's Renaud Lavoie reports.
Budaj was then placed on waivers Friday, which he would have to clear before being reassigned, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.
LAK make official Peter Budaj's one-year deal. He's on Ontario's season-opening roster, along w/ Patrik Bartosak (injured) & Michael Houser.

After attending Kings training camp on a tryout, Budaj is likely to remain in the minors - if he clears waivers - barring an injury to Kings goalies Jonathan Quick or Jhonas Enroth.
The 33-year-old went 0-9-6 with a 3.55 GAA and .888 save percentage in 19 games for the Winnipeg Jets' former affiliate, the St. John's IceCaps, last season.
