Canucks' Higgins could miss another 3 weeks with foot injury
Vancouver Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins told reporters Sunday that winger Chris Higgins is on schedule to miss another one-to-three weeks with a foot injury.
The 32-year-old was injured after blocking a shot in a Sept. 21 preseason game against the San Jose Sharks, and was to be re-evaluated three weeks after the injury occurred, which comes on Monday.
Desjardins also told reporters that defenseman Alex Edler, who sat Saturday due to illness, will travel with the team for their upcoming two games in California, and that the recovery of goalie Jacob Markstrom, who is battling a hamstring injury, is coming along "quicker than expected."
The Canucks face the Anaheim Ducks on Monday before making the short trip across town to visit the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday.
