St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk suffered a lower-body injury Tuesday against the Calgary Flames, the club announced.
Shattenkirk left the game after 40 minutes, having played 12:58 over 17 shifts. Head coach Ken Hitchcock said after the game that the exit was for precautionary reasons, and that Shattenkirk will be reevaluated Wednesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jeremy Rutherford.
The 26-year-old had an assist through his first two games of the season.
