Connor McDavid tallied a pair of goals and registered his first multi-point game in the NHL as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Calgary Flames 5-2 on Saturday night.
The No. 1 overall selection scored his second and third NHL goals Saturday, using the league's reigning shot-block king, Kris Russell, as a screen and beating Jonas Hiller with a quick snap under the arm for his first of the night.
McDavid added his second of the game on the power play late in the third period to put the game out of reach.

McDavid wasn't the only No. 1 overall pick to find the scoresheet for the Oilers. Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Nail Yakupov also scored in the victory.
