Patrick Marleau records 1,000th career point

San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau recorded his 1,000th career NHL point against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.
Marleau reached the milestone - picking up his sixth assist of the season - when Brent Burns beat Marc-Andre Fleury to open the scoring in the first period.
He is the 83rd player to hit the 1,000-point mark in league history.

Adding to his special night, Marleau accomplished the impressive feat in Pittsburgh, where he was drafted in 1997 as the Sharks selected him second overall.
The 36-year-old added another assist in the victory, and now has has 462 goals and 539 assists in 1,349 games.
