Flames' Ramo clears waivers, sent to AHL

Calgary Flames goalie Karri Ramo cleared waivers Thursday and was assigned to Stockton of the American Hockey League, the club announced.
Ramo will make for an expensive minor leaguer, as he's earning $3.8 million this season, with a $2.85 million cap hit. He'll be an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
He heads to the minors with an .879 save percentage, and boasts a career .904 in 125 NHL games and an .897 in 77 AHL games.
Joni Ortio will be the backup goalie behind Jonas Hiller in Calgary. The Flames are 28th in the league with an .868 save percentage - a major reason why they've earned one win in six games.
