Evgeny Kuznetsov and the Washington Capitals tied their season high with six goals in less than two periods Friday, chasing Edmonton Oilers goalie Anders Nilsson out of the net less than 12 minutes into the second period.
Justin Williams scored his first goal as a Capital to put his team up 6-3, ending Nilsson's night after he faced just 17 shots.
Cam Talbot entered in his place.
Kuznetsov netted his first two goals of the season, while Nicklas Backstrom, Marcus Johansson, and Andre Burakovsky also chipped in for Washington.
