Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolai Ehlers punctuated a frenzied first period with an impressive goal against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday evening.

Ehlers worked a 2-on-1 with Mark Scheifele, faked a slap shot, then flicked a wrist shot past goaltender Darcy Kuemper to give the Jets a 3-1 lead.

Winnipeg's three-goal barrage came after Minnesota forward Jason Zucker scored a highlight-reel marker 10 seconds into the game that stood as the fastest goal to start a game in Wild history.
Ehlers, the 2014 ninth overall pick, recorded his third goal of the season.
