Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf had successful surgery to remove his appendix Wednesday, Eric Stephens of The Orange County Register reports.
He will be absent from the Ducks' lineup from anywhere between four and 12 days, which works out loosely to between two and six games.
Getzlaf has recorded just one assist on 22 shots in eight games.
