Sidney Crosby sets up 2 quick goals in 1st period vs. Sabres
With growing concern over his underwhelming play early in the season, Sidney Crosby didn't waste any time attempting to silence doubters during his game against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Pittsburgh Penguins' captain needed less than a minute to set up Pascal Dupuis for his first goal since last November to give his team an early 1-0 lead.
Crosby got on the board again just six minutes later - and helped another teammate break out of a slump in the process - as he picked up his second assist on Patric Hornqvist's first goal of the year.
Crosby entered Thursday's game with just three points in nine games - all three coming against the Florida Panthers on October 20.
Though the Sabres came back to tie the game at two before the end of the period, the Penguins will be hopeful Crosby's early production is a sign of things to come.
