Fifteen years later, Brad Boyes is on the board for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The organization's first-round draft pick in 2000 - who was traded before having a chance to officially don the blue and white - scored his first goal in his second stint with the team Monday versus the Dallas Stars, some 5,000 days after the fact.
Moments later, Boyes appeared to need just a few more shifts to notch his second goal, but was the latest victim of the coach's challenge as Stars boss Lindy Ruff successfully contested a narrow offside.
