Columbus Blue Jackets forward David Clarkson left Tuesday's game against the San Jose Sharks with an undisclosed injury and didn't return.
Clarkson was forced to depart in the third period of Columbus' 5-2 victory after colliding awkwardly with Sharks center Joe Thornton.
Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella confirmed an injury after the contest, but didn't have much to add.
"Hopefully we'll have more of an update (Wednesday)," the coach said.
Clarkson has one assist and nine shots on goal in eight games.
