Florida had rallied to tie the game with two goals in 39 seconds late in the third period, after New York broke a 2-2 tie with a pair of their own markers less than two minutes apart.
However, the Panthers took a penalty for too many men on the ice at the 1:12 mark of overtime, and the Rangers capitalized for the victory.
Nash scored more goals Saturday night than he had all season coming in, picking up his third, fourth, and fifth markers of 2015-16. He also recorded 10 shots on goal and played over 20 minutes.
The Rangers have won 10 of their last 11 games, while the Panthers have lost two in a row.
