Alex Galchenyuk's blast on the power play was the difference as the Montreal Canadiens defeated the New York Islanders 4-2 on Sunday night.

The Islanders were then whistled for too many men on the ice with 1:22 to go, and Max Pacioretty buried an empty-netter to ice the victory.
The Canadiens' power-play unit went 3-for-5 in the game, including David Desharnais' tying goal in the second period. Montreal scored four times on special teams, as Tomas Fleischmann tallied shorthanded less than five minutes after Desharnais' marker.
Montreal won its second game in a row, second straight against the Islanders, and third in the last four.
New York lost back-to-back contests against the Canadiens after reeling off two straight wins.
