Larry Robinson, Guy Carbonneau, and Alexei Kovalev are expected to suit up for the Montreal Canadiens legends when they face former Boston Bruins during the Winter Classic festivities next month.
Jacques Demers will lead the Canadiens alumni, and the Stanley Cup-winning coach announced his roster on Sunday night.
Here are the projected line combinations, defense pairings, and goaltenders, as revealed by Demers on RDS' 'L'Antichambre':
| LW | C | RW |
|---|---|---|
| Benoit Brunet | Guy Carbonneau | Mike Keane |
| Mats Naslund | Alex Kovalev | Oleg Petrov |
| Steve Shutt | Normand Dupont | Stephane Richer |
| Sergio Momesso | Donald Audette | Chris Nilan |
| LD | RD |
|---|---|
| Larry Robinson | Eric Desjardins |
| Gaston Gingras | Patrice Brisebois |
| Rick Green | Gilbert Delorme |
| Lyle Odelein | Stephane Quintal |
| G |

| Jose Theodore |
| Richard Sevigny |
While Robinson, Carbonneau, Kovalev, and Richer are all excellent choices, Canadiens fans may be disappointed to not see Saku Koivu on the squad.
The alumni game will be played on Dec. 31, one day before the Winter Classic between the current Canadiens and Bruins.
