Ducks 'too good' to miss playoffs, says Kesler
The rallying cry has been a staple throughout Ryan Kesler's career.
But it's being shouted a little earlier this season.
"If we keep playing like we are, we're going to get in the playoffs," he said in his old stomping grounds of Vancouver on Monday, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times reports. "It's only a matter of time. This team's too good not to be in the playoffs."
Anaheim has dug itself a similar hole to the one the Los Angeles Kings failed to escape last season, but there is reason to believe Kesler's remarks will be validated, as the Pacific Division has seen a significant dip in quality.
The Ducks are six points out of the final postseason position and eight points out of first place despite earning the full two points in only one third of their games to start the season.
