Anaheim Ducks forward Nate Thompson is set to make his season debut Wednesday against his former team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, following offseason shoulder surgery.
It was discovered the 31-year-old had two labral tears in his left shoulder following the Ducks' playoff run last season. The injury was initially suffered in Anaheim's regular-season finale.
He appeared in two games with AHL's San Diego Gulls in the past week for conditioning.
Thompson recorded 18 points in 80 games last season.
