The Los Angeles Kings prefer Milan Lucic in their corner.
Dean Lombardi and his managerial staff reportedly reached out to the pending free agent's camp this week to schedule preliminary discussions on a potential new contract in the new year, TSN's Pierre LeBrun reports.
The power winger, who LeBrun says is enjoying his time with the Kings, is having a quietly productive first season in Los Angeles.
He has 10 goals and 18 points in 27 games for a first-place team that turned a corner when he was moved onto a line with Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli.
