Patrick Kane extends point streak to 26 games in win over Canucks

Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane extended his franchise-best point streak to an incredible 26 games in Sunday's 4-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks, claiming a secondary assist on Duncan Keith's first-period power-play goal.

Kane now has the longest point streak constructed by an active NHL player (and the 11th-longest all time) having surpassed Sidney Crosby's 25-game run accomplished in 2010-11.

While his streak is impossible to qualify, it was somewhat of a phantom point. Kane fed Keith, who sent the puck over to Artemi Panarin for a one-time shot from the half wall. Panarin then collected his own rebound before returning the puck back for Keith, who scored on a knuckling attempt toward goal.

It took a moment to determine if Kane had indeed earned the additional assist - news that came to the delight of the United Center crowd when the goal was announced at the arena.

Kane now has points in 29 of the Blackhawks' 31 games.
