Wild sign Jared Spurgeon to 4-year extension

The Minnesota Wild have locked up a critical member of their defense corps for the foreseeable future.
Jared Spurgeon has signed a four-year, $20.75-million contract extension.

The 26-year-old blue-liner ranks second on the Wild in average ice time (22:15), playing on the club's top pairing alongside Ryan Suter.
He has four goals and 12 assists in 31 games.
Spurgeon has spent his entire six-year career with Minnesota.
