The Columbus Blue Jackets placed goaltender Curtis McElhinney on injured reserve Monday due to a sprained ankle.
McElhinney sustained the injury during Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over the Washington Capitals. He's out indefinitely.
The 32-year-old is 2-6-2 with a 3.33 GAA and .888 save percentage this season.
With Sergei Bobrovsky still sidelined due to a groin injury, the Blue Jackets will turn to a goaltending tandem of Anton Forsberg and Joonas Korpisalo. The duo have just 11 combined games of NHL experience.
