Anaheim Ducks goalie John Gibson has been named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for December.
Gibson went 5-3-1 with an impressive 1.62 GAA, .929 save percentage, and three shutouts in the month.
He edged Chicago Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin and Buffalo Sabres forward Jack Eichel after ending the month with back-to-back shutout wins.
The 22-year-old is off to another hot start in January, making 19 saves to lead Anaheim to a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday.
The Ducks suddenly find themselves in a playoff spot for the first time this season thanks in large part to Gibson's stellar play.
