Johnny Gaudreau, Braden Holtby, and Patrick Kane each received a late Christmas present Monday.
The trio was named the three stars of the month to close out 2015.
Calgary Flames forward Gaudreau was named the first star after finishing first among all skaters with 12 goals, including two hat tricks. Gaudreau's stellar play helped his club go 9-4-0 in December which set a franchise record 11 consecutive wins on home ice.

Holtby was named second star after going the entire month without a loss in regulation, compiling a 9-0-1 record with a 1.69 goals-against average, a .947 save percentage, and one shutout. The 26-year-old has helped the Washington Capitals attain top spot in the Eastern Conference.
Holtby has not lost in regulation since Nov. 10 against the Detroit Red Wings.

Kane was named third star after a month that saw him set a Chicago Blackhawks record as well as a record among U.S. born players for the longest point streak, which hit 26 games on Dec. 13.
Kane lead all skaters with 19 points during December and continues to lead the league in scoring with 23 goals and 57 points.
This marks the second straight month that both Holtby and Kane have been named stars of the month.
