The New York Islanders will welcome back their No. 1 netminder to the crease.
Goaltender Jaroslav Halak was activated off injured reserve Tuesday, the team announced. The 30-year-old missed the club's last five games while nursing an upper-body injury.
He's strung together another successful season with a record of 10-6-3 with a .923 save percentage and a 2.09 goals-against average.
Halak is expected to get the start Thursday when the Islanders do battle with the Eastern Conference-leading Washington Capitals.
