Washington Capitals forward Zach Sill will have a hearing Wednesday with the NHL's Department of Player Safety for boarding Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid.
McQuaid left Tuesday's game and did not return after taking a hard hit into the boards from Sill.
No penalty was called on the play.
The 27-year-old journeyman has not recorded a point in four games with the Capitals this season.
