Seth Jones may soon be taking first- and second-pairing minutes for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The club has lost David Savard, again, this time long term, as coach John Tortorella revealed Friday that the defenseman will miss "weeks" with an upper-body injury.
Savard missed two-and-a-half weeks in the latter half of December with an ankle injury.
He has a goal and 16 points in his 39 appearances.
The Jackets lost blue-liner Kevin Connauton through waivers to the Arizona Coyotes earlier this week.
