Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson entered Thursday's game against the New Jersey Devils on the heels of consecutive wins with 30 saves or more.

That streak ended abruptly less than 14 minutes into the first period after the Devils' first line shelled him for four goals on just seven shots, sending Anderson to the bench early.

Rookie forward Joseph Blandisi opened the scoring with his first NHL goal before fellow winger Kyle Palmieri netted a pair to reach the 20-goal mark for the first time in his career. After recording assists on the first three goals, center Travis Zajac scored to record his fourth point of the game.

Things didn't get any better for the Senators from there, as Anderson's replacement, Andrew Hammond, allowed a goal on the second shot he faced. The Devils took a 5-0 lead into the first intermission.
