What has gotten into Sam Bennett?
The Calgary Flames forward has been on an incendiary streak lately, and on Thursday he continued his red-hot play as his team took on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Bennett recorded another two goals in his club's 4-2 win over Columbus, extending a recent offensive outburst that seems to have come out of nowhere.

With his two strikes, Bennett now has eight goals in his past five games after the 19-year-old went 18 scoreless games between goals five and six.

The Flames committed to Bennett by taking him fourth overall in 2014. After a mediocre start, he looks to be coming into his own while quickly rocketing up the rookie scoring list.
Bennett now sits tied for fourth with 13 goals, just three behind Chicago Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin for first among all first-year players.
Prior to Sam Bennett, the last #Flames player to score 8 goals in a span of 5 games was Jarome Iginla in March / April 2011
