Perry, Scott lead Pacific Division to All-Star triumph
John Scott is undefeated as captain of the Pacific Division.
The Pacific defeated the Atlantic Division 1-0 in the final of the 3-on-3 tournament at the All-Star Game in Nashville on Sunday.
Anahaim Ducks sniper Corey Perry scored the only goal of the 20-minute contest - which was dominated by goaltenders - going low blocker side on Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop.
Florida Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo and Los Angeles Kings netminder Jonathan Quick were unbelievable in the first half, stopping all 22 shots they faced. Luongo made 12 stops, while Quick was 10-for-10.
Perry had a second goal called back after it was ruled that Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall interfered with Bishop on the play.
Scott, the undisputed leader of the Pacific, was instrumental in setting the tone for his team. It had one goal heading into the tournament, and executed perfectly. Scott was serenaded with MVP chants in the second half when he touched the puck, and his teammates lifted him onto their shoulders postgame.
The AHL enforcer was named MVP as a write-in candidate. He lived the dream.
