Spurgeon is suffering from a deep bruise and is considered doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Stars.
Analysis:
It's unclear exactly what caused the issue, but it held him to just 9:42 of ice time in Saturday's contest, and will likely keep him out again Tuesday. The St. Paul Pioneer Press's Chad Graff believes the team will recall either Mike Reilly or Gustav Olofsson prior to Tuesday's game, but expect an official move to be made (or not) once his status has been determined. If he's ruled out, the blueliner's next chance to return would come Thursday against the Capitals.
