Rangers' Nash will miss 6th-straight game despite feeling better
New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault informed reporters that forward Rick Nash will miss his sixth-consecutive game Monday against the New Jersey Devils due to a bone bruise in his left leg, but it appears he won't remain out of the lineup for too much longer.
"Today he came in and said he's feeling a lot better," Vigneault said. The 31-year-old has not played since blocking a Justin Faulk shot in the third period of a Jan. 19 game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Rangers have won three of five games despite Nash's absence, but Vigneault is hopeful that the six-time All-Star could return to the lineup later this week.
"We might give him another day or two more," the head coach continued. "It's not an exact science, bone bruises, so we'll see how he feels in a day or two and go from there."
The Rangers will also be without Ryan McDonagh on Monday, who was diagnosed with a concussion as a result of a punch from Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds on Saturday.
