Senators, Sabres exchange minor leaguers in 7-player trade
Chris Wattie / Reuters
The Ottawa Senators have traded forwards Eric O’Dell, Cole Schneider, Alex Guptill, and Michael Sdao to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for forwards Jason Akeson and Phil Varone, and defenseman Jerome Leduc.
Schneider and O'Dell led the AHL's Binghamton Senators with 42 and 37 points respectively this season, while Varone and Akeson ranked first and second in scoring for the AHL's Rochester Americans, with 32 and 30 points to their respective names.
Clearly, this deal will not be shifting the balance of power in the NHL.
TSN Trade panel thanks BUF & OTT for getting the Akeson-Varone-Gauthier-Leduc-O'Dell-Schneider-Guptill-Sdao deal out of the way tonite.
