Brayden Schenn quietly among NHL's elite in 2016
Brayden Schenn isn't someone you'd expect to find on a list like this.
The Philadelphia Flyers forward has been one of the NHL's most productive players since the calendar flipped, riding a point-per-game pace as his club pushes for a playoff spot.
Schenn hasn't scored in four games, but he has four assists in his last three contests and 10 points in his last 10.
He's clicking with Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds on the Flyers' top line and top power-play unit.
Management gave Schenn a less than inspiring assessment in training camp, but the 24-year-old is now five points clear of his previous career high (47) with nine games remaining.
He's a major reason the Flyers have won seven of their last 10 games to pull ahead of the Detroit Red Wings for the second Eastern Conference wild-card spot with a game in hand.
