Nicklas Backstrom (upper body) will not play against the Islanders on Tuesday night
Backstrom (upper body) will not play against the Islanders on Tuesday night, Zac Boyer of The Washington Times reports.
Analysis:
Backstrom, a savvy Swede with superior on-ice vision, was able to take part in Monday's practice and performed line rushes. It's a sour feeling to be without Backstrom during the fantasy playoffs, but the Capitals have clinched the Presidents' Trophy and simply have no incentive to rush him back.
