The residents of Baltimore will not be forced to decide between watching hometown hero Michael Phelps attempt to win his 22nd Olympic gold medal and the Ravens' preseason opener Thursday night.
The Ravens announced Wednesday that Phelps' 200-meter individual medley finals race will be shown on the big screens during a commercial break of the club's game against the Carolina Panthers.
Phelps, a lifelong Ravens fan, has already extended his Olympic record for career gold medals, winning the 200m butterfly and a pair of relay races.
In 2008, the Ravens showed one of Phelps' eight gold medal wins after the conclusion of a preseason contest.
