Fiji trounces Great Britain for 1st-ever Olympic gold
Fiji demolished Great Britain in the men's rugby sevens final 43-7 on Thursday, winning the nation's first-ever Olympic medal in style.
The game was never close as the Fijians jumped out to a 29-0 lead by the half, putting constant pressure on the British, who turned the ball over countless times during the game's first 10 minutes.
The medal caps off the inaugural Olympic tournament in the sport, with South Africa ousting Japan in the bronze medal game and Great Britain capturing a silver.

But the Fijians were clearly the class of the tournament, also beating New Zealand and the U.S. on their way to the historic gold.
The victory is significant for Fiji as they haven't won a World Cup since 2005, settling for third place at the most recent event in 2013.
