Rio 2016 officials close diving pool after discoloration
Rio officials closed the Olympic diving pool Friday as they try to identify a solution after the water turned green on the second day of competition.
Although officials claimed the discoloration posed no risk to athletes, some have complained the water irritated their eyes:
Rio 2016 confirm diving pool closed this morning while they continue to sort out the water. One or two athletes had "itchy eyes". Erm..

Rio officials initially claimed the discoloration was caused by a proliferation of algae.

A day after the diving pool turned green, the polo pool - which is located at the same venue - also began to change color.

Meanwhile, one unidentified German diver claims there's also a foul odor inside the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre:

A decision has yet to be announced as to whether scheduled events, slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. local time, will start on time.
