Boogie won't accept Griner's 1-on-1 challenge
DeMarcus Cousins is going full-fledged heel when it comes to a potential one-on-one matchup with Brittney Griner, the starting center for the U.S. women's basketball team.
Griner challenged Boogie to a game in Rio de Janeiro, but it doesn't look like the Sacramento Kings All-Star is willing to oblige. From his perspective, he's doing her a favor.
"I'll let her leave out of here a confident player," Cousins told The Vertical's Michael Lee on Tuesday.
There's zero animosity between the two, as they've become close during their time in Brazil, establishing a brother-sister bond.
"We talk a lot of crap to each other. I love talking to him. He's really funny. I would love to just go out there and play against him," Griner told USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick last week.
"I've never really been around him before until now, but he's like that big brother, just to talk smack to and who is always competitive. He's awesome."
Cousins and the American men's team will take on Argentina in the quarterfinals Wednesday, while Griner and her squad are headed to the semis after doing away with Japan on Tuesday.
