Canada's Rose becomes youngest scorer in women's Olympic history

Canada continues to break records at Rio 2016.

Speedy 17-year-old Deanne Rose became the youngest scorer in the history of Olympic women's soccer Friday when she tapped home after a brilliant run from Ashley Lawrence in the 25th minute of the bronze-medal clash with host Brazil.

The tally, which gave Canada a 1-0 lead and quieted a partisan Arena Corinthians, came after Janine Beckie scored the fastest goal in Olympic soccer history earlier in the competition - though her record was later broken by Brazilian superstar Neymar.

Canada is looking to replicate its bronze-medal win from four years ago in London.
