Team USA cancels Australia exhibition game due to health protocols
USA Basketball has canceled Friday's men's basketball exhibition contest between the United States and Australia due to health and safety standards.
Team USA officially ruled out Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal from its Olympics squad Thursday due to protocols, while forward Jerami Grant is self-isolating away from the roster. The team is searching for Beal's replacement.
The U.S. men's squad is still set to face Spain in its final tune-up game on July 18 at the UNLV campus. Team USA has gone 1-2 through three exhibition matchups in July, including a 91-83 loss to Australia on Monday.
With the San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich leading the way, the American men will face France in their first game of the Olympics tournament on July 25 at 8 a.m. ET.
