French swimming sensation Leon Marchand won his fourth gold medal of the Paris Games with victory in the men's 200m individual medley Friday.
Marchand's time of 1:54.06 is an Olympic record but narrowly fails to break Ryan Lochte's 13-year-old world record.
The 22-year-old continued a star-making run of dominance in Paris. He earned golds in the 400m individual medley, 200m breaststroke, and 200m butterfly - the latter two coming hours apart in the same evening.
Only two male swimmers, Michael Phelps and Mark Spitz, have ever won more than three individual gold medals at a single Olympic Games.
