Spieth's major woes endure at Royal Troon

When Jordan Spieth shot 66 in the first round of The Masters in April, taking the outright lead by two shots in defense of his first major crown, it appeared he was well on his way to another wildly successful season in major-championship competition.
It hasn't, of course, worked out that way. Not at all.
Spieth failed to break par for a 10th consecutive round at a major since that 66 at Augusta, posting a 1-over 72 at Royal Troon in Saturday's third round at the Open Championship.
He started hot, picking up four strokes over his first seven holes, but erased his progress and prolonged his big-tournament woes with three bogeys and a double-bogey over another seven-hole stretch.
Spieth's now 18-over par in 10 rounds since his Thursday at the Masters after a 2015 season that saw him pick up 54 aggregated strokes at the majors.
He's 5-over for the tournament, and buried 15 shots off Phil Mickelson's lead.
