'Simpsons' season premiere included eerie Arnold Palmer reference

There have been several cases of "The Simpsons" correctly predicting future events, from a Denver Broncos-Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl to Donald Trump's presidential run.

In another eerie coincidence, Sunday's Season 28 premiere, which aired the same night Arnold Palmer died at 87, included a reference to the golfing legend in past tense.

Homer: "I'm going to fill a Super Soaker full of lemonade, Karl's going to fill one with iced tea and we're going to Arnold Palmer Lenny when he walks in."

Marge: "Arnold Palmer Lenny? You're going to Arnold Palmer Lenny?"

Homer: "Yeah, you see, Arnold Palmer was a golfer and he made up this drink where it's not a full glass of lemonade or a full glass of iced tea."

After the episode aired on the East Coast, "Simpsons" showrunner Al Jean tweeted that he was "(very), (very) sorry to learn of death of Arnold Palmer" and told one Twitter user it was too late to cut the joke out.
