Roger Federer is officially in Jack Nicklaus territory, as the Swiss legend captured the Australian Open crown on Sunday in Melbourne.
The win is Federer's 18th major title, a feat unrivaled in men's tennis, but it does match him with Nicklaus - who captured 18 majors over a 24-year stretch.
Following the five-set victory over Rafael Nadal, the 35-year-old received a congratulatory tweet from the golf king.
Congratulations @RogerFederer on Grand Slam win No. 18! As a huge fan of tennis and you, don't stop there. pic.twitter.com/PVDuEzJnI6

Ironically, both won their 18th major when they were considered over the hill, Nicklaus claimed the 1986 Masters at the age of 46.
