Bay Hill GC provides sneak peek of Arnold Palmer statue
A 13-foot statue of Arnold Palmer will be unveiled the morning of Saturday, March 11th at Bay Hill to honor the late golfing great.
MasterCard, which sponsors the Arnold Palmer Invitational, financed the entire production of the 1,392-pound bronze statue.
“We’re truly honored to play a role in recognizing and celebrating Mr. Palmer and his enduring legacy,” said MasterCard president Craig Vosburg in a statement. “While Mr. Palmer will not be with us this year, he will forever keep a watchful eye over the ‘deceptively simple and endlessly complicated game’ that is golf.”
Another BIG reason to make 2017 a must-do year! See the new statue during tournament week. Thank you @Mastercard for making it possible. pic.twitter.com/SR9ZozVtV1

The statue will reside between the first and 10th tees at Bay Hill Golf Club, and is a replica of the one that stands at Wake Forest University - Palmer's alma mater.
The Arnold Palmer Invitational takes place March 13-19 in Orlando.
